About Mission Trust

Dedicated to eliminating preventable blindness and improving quality of life for marginalized communities through compassionate healthcare, education, and relief services.

Our Story

Mission Trust was founded in 2007 with a clear and unwavering purpose: to serve the underserved communities of Meghalaya, India. What began as a compassionate response to the crisis of preventable blindness has evolved into a comprehensive organization addressing the interconnected challenges of healthcare, education, and poverty.

Our journey started with the recognition that 80% of visual problems in India are avoidable or curable, yet millions suffer in darkness due to lack of access to quality eye care. In Meghalaya, our research revealed childhood blindness rates comparable to Sub-Saharan Africa – a statistic that demanded immediate action.

Today, we operate from our headquarters in Forest Colony, Shillong, with a new dedicated facility under construction in Golf Link, Pyrthorumkhrah. This expansion represents our commitment to serving not just Meghalaya, but the entire North Eastern region of India.
